On 15 June, Forte will open its call for visiting researcher grants. The call aims to contribute to development and learning and promote knowledge exchange from the international research community to Swedish research within Forte’s areas of focus.

Focus of the call

The call is open for applications within Forte’s overall areas: health, working life, and welfare.

The aim of the visiting researcher grant is to stimulate international contacts, develop individual researchers’ competence, and promote the international anchoring and relevance of Swedish research. Special emphasis is placed on facilitating contacts and exchange of experiences among researchers active within Forte’s areas.

About the grant

Within this call, it is possible to apply for grants for both incoming and outgoing visiting researchers. The stay should be a minimum of one month and can be maximum of six months, but the project period can be up to one year. The maximum funding amount that can be applied for is SEK 500 000.

Primarily, the grant aims to support shorter stays for research collaboration, exchange of experience, and learning. It needs to be evident in the application how the grant will strengthen the research or research environment in question.

Visiting Researcher Grant – Incoming

Incoming visiting researcher refers to researchers who are active at a research institution outside of Sweden and will visit a Swedish research institution.
The application for visiting researcher grants for incoming researchers is submitted by the Swedish host institution and the person responsible for the guest researcher’s stay in Sweden. This person represents the guest researcher in all contacts with Forte.

Visiting Researcher Grant – Outgoing

Outgoing visiting researcher refers to researchers who are active at a Swedish research institution and will visit a research institution in another country. The visiting researcher is the main applicant and represents themselves in all contacts with Forte.
